  My husband originally had great service when he bought my engagement/wedding ring at Tobin. We've periodically gone back to Tobin in Springfield, even though we live in St. Louis because we hadn't found a jeweler closer (and the in-laws can pick up our jewelery when it's done because they live in Springfield). I decided to see what they could do as far as resetting stones in a ring I had received from my grandmother. The ring was old fashioned and I wanted to look into a custom pendant or bracelet. I started the process on September 29th, 2007 and Ann promised me some design ideas within a few weeks. It is NOW 6 MONTHS LATER and I have not received any committment from Ann or Tobin regarding ideas for resetting the stones in my ring. The communication has been terrible (had to keep bugging Ann every few weeks about progress) and all she has given me are excuses. I am a very patient person, but this service was the worst I've ever had. And Ann admitted that this process shouldn't have taken nearly as long as it has. I have decided to take my chances with a brand new jeweler in St. Louis instead of wasting my time with Tobin. I certainly don't recommend them for any jewlery alterations.

  I went to get two rings cut off my finger and the lady that helped me plus the owner were extremely helpful & pleasant. And they didn't charge me anything!
